About Gillyhop Stud...

Thank you for visiting our Website. We will be updating the site on a day to day basis. We would like to give you the opportunity to have a look at our rabbits.

Firstly Welcome and thank-you for visiting our website. We have put this site together to share our hobby with other like minded people, and for whoever have an interest in rabbits. The stud is combined with two members Karen(mother) and Sam(Son), Located in Dunstable, Bedfordshire, England. We are members of the British Rabbit Council (BRC), also members of many national clubs.

Over the last couple of years the stud have kept various breeds such as Netherland Dwarfs, Cashmere lops, Polish, German Lops and Cashmere Lops. We now currently keep just one breed in the Stud, that being - Miniature Lops. Miniature Lops have been at the stud right from the start and they remain as strong as ever. The main colour in Miniature lops here at Gillyhop Stud is REW (Red eyed white) but we also have a few select colours including Black, Blue, Beige, Siamese Smoke and Sooty fawn all in small numbers.

In 2007 we imported stock to help with the broadness of body and coat in our Miniature lop line. These kindly brought over to us by friends, Wil and Lillian Smeets from Holland. These being 3 Rew Mini lops (2 does and 1 buck), 1 Agouti Mini lop buck. This has helped the stud progress well and now taken it to another level, We have now parted with the original imports and carried on producing our own line from this. In the last couple of years the stud has proven its worth and done very well around the shows, including Best under five Lop at The London Championship 5 Star Show.

We may have Adult and young stock available from time-to-time, so please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.


Meet the new kid of the block Gillyhop's Whizzkid, He is a Beige Buck that we bred here along with his litter mate Jacko. Jacko has now been passed on via the Bradford Championship show auction to Fiona Neil, Good luck with him Fiona. I certainly look forward to taking Whizzkid out once he has matured. Watch this space!

LiL Chris is one of the latest youngsters that I have bred here, he has been shown twice as an under 5 so far, and BOTH times has come home with awards. Lil Chris was taken to The Walsall 4 Star Championship Show on the 27th August 2008 with stiff compertition he did us proud gaining Best in Show in The National Miniature Lop young stock show. This is a great achievement for him, but it gets better, I then took Lil Chris out to The London Championship 5 star show in Reading on the 6th September 2008, He Gained Best of Breed and BEST LOP in the under five Stock Show, This is our first achievement of this award since we started the stud up in 2005. He will now Stay at home as his stud duties will be kicking in shortly until he is a fully mature adult, Pictures to follow.


Once again, Caprice has produced a lovely White buck for us, this time sired by Diesel, He is now currently 5 months old, and has been shown once before, we have named this little fellow Giorgio, He is now going to be used as stud until he is mature enough to show as an adult.


This is Pierre as a youngster, he is now residing with Ruskin Stud in Cumbria to help with the breeding programme, We now have siblings from Pierre that are looking very nice indeed.

	Here you will see Gillyhop's Celien as a youngster, she is stunning doe which we breed early 2007. Her father being our main stud buck at the present time. She was Sired by 'Diesel' and her mum is Ruskin's Caprice here at Gillyhop Stud. We now have Celien's Children in the stud producing top quality stock.
In this picture you will see a young agouti doe that was born around the same time as Celein, She has now moved on to another home.

Here is pictures of Diesel when he was about 9 months old. He was maturing very nicely and He had been taken out to shows a few times and had done well for himself, he has now gone into a moult so will be staying at home for now. We have a few youngsters from Diesel, and he has produced 'the Diesel head' everytime. Diesel has now been mated to an import doe called Nadia, Watch this space for pictures.

Above you will see to the left, yet another picture of Diesel as a youngster. To the right you will see 'Gillyhop's Tommy' an Agouti German Lop buck that now has left us to join Tabolt Stud in Wales.
